HERMANN HESSE IN MONTAGNOLA BETWEEN MUSIC AND POETRY

21 June 2026, 7.00 pm
Montagnola, Sala Boccadoro

Serena Farnocchia, soprano
Paolo Raffo, piano
Emanuele Santoro, narrator

On 21 June at 7.00 pm, Ceresio Estate invites the public to Montagnola for a concert dedicated to Hermann Hesse, to the Ticino landscape in which he lived, and to the relationship between words, music and inner landscape.

The programme brings together lieder on texts by Gabriele D’Annunzio and Hermann Hesse, tracing a journey from the nocturnal, sensuous world of the Italian fin de siècle to the quieter, more meditative dimension of the writer of Montagnola. The evening features music by Francesco Paolo Tosti, Pier Adolfo Tirindelli, Richard Strauss and Lee Bradshaw.

Soprano Serena Farnocchia, pianist Paolo Raffo and the voice of Emanuele Santoro shape an evening in which music and spoken word enter into a natural dialogue with the place that marked Hesse’s artistic and human maturity.

Free admission.
