Ceresio Estate presents in Lugano the project “Karmar” with Marco Santilli and Karolina Öhman, a musical encounter between composition, improvisation and sonic imagination.
The title “Composing Music, Dreaming with Eyes Wide Open” captures the poetic heart of the evening: music emerges as a space between precise writing and immediate invention, between contemporary language and narrative freedom.
Marco Santilli’s clarinet and Karolina Öhman’s cello open a path in which chamber music, proximity to jazz and contemporary sensibility merge into a personal sound world.

BIOGRAPHIES
Marco Santilli
Ticino clarinettist, composer and improviser Marco Santilli studied at the conservatories of Zurich and Lausanne, also receiving the Premier Prix de Virtuosité. Active between classical music, jazz and contemporary creation, he has for years developed a personal language founded on the encounter between written music and improvisation.
Karolina Öhman
Swedish-Swiss cellist Karolina Öhman studied with Thomas Grossenbacher, Thomas Demenga and Torleif Thedéen. She is principal cellist of the Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden and is distinguished by intense activity in contemporary music, with more than two hundred world premières to her name.
