LuganoRegion Music Review, free admission

LuganoRegion is pleased to announce the 48th edition of Ceresio Estate, a blend of music, art, culture, history, and nature.
The 14 concerts of Ceresio Estate offer enchanting views over the waters of Ceresio, Lake Lugano. The name might derive from the Latin “Ceresium,” meaning bluer than the sky, or from the Celtic “Keresius,” branched due to its peculiar shape.

New this year is the pairing of each concert with a tourist proposal that in most cases can be carried out on the same day.

Also this season, space is given to students and graduates of the University School of Music (SUM) of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland (Csi) such as oboists Alessia Vermi and Tommaso Duca, sopranos Alice Rossi, pianists Marco Borghetto and Federico Battista Melis.

Equal attention is dedicated to those active on the Lugano music scene such as the Ticinese cellist Milo Ferrazzini; Admir Doci, guitar teacher at our Conservatory; lutenist Giangiacomo Pinardi active with the Barocchisti; the vocal group LaReverdie, a regular guest of Cantardi Pietre, soprano Barbara Zanichelli, lutenist Luca Pianca, harpist Elisa Netzer, and lastly Giovanni Conti, a musicologist from “our home” internationally recognized as one of the leading experts in Gregorian chant.

Among the proposed music pieces are a world premiere by Romanian composer Gabriel Malancioiu, some “Pieces for unheard instruments” written by Ticinese Pietro Viviani, and three poems by Alberto Nessi set to music by Paul Glass, a well - known Californian author who has lived in Lugano for decades.

In the titles that define the context in which each concert takes place, it has been highlighted that some iconic compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach are distributed across four different programs.

To our loyal audience, both local and tourist, we wish to spend pleasant listening moments, immersed in the art, nature, and landscapes that only our region can offer.
